I have been on a diet journey since my midd twenties, but as I entered my forties the scale climbed me steady up to 89 kilogram and I knew I had to loose weight! After I discovered recently that I was becoming insulin resistant I had a new urgency in my life to loose weight. Not just to loose it but find a lifestyle of loosing it. I decided to go by the way of LOW CARB EATING. This blog is about my journey..... the good and the bad.....

SEPTEMBER 6
Weekends are the hardest to stay on track with low carb. Yet again I can say it was a good low carb day.
BREAKFAST this morning was a big event. I fried some spicy sausage circles and broke my two eggs into the same pan. Coffee and cream.
I had a coconut coffee blended midd morning.
LUNCH was 2T of crumbled blue cheese and 3 cups of chopped lettuce with 2T of olive oil.
I had a friend over this afternoon and I enjoyed a coffee with some flavored coffee creamer with her. The chocolate cake with cream frosting and chocolate balls my daughter made was a big temptation. But NO I didn't have any!
SUPPER - I fried half a cup of sliced chicken with about 1 cup sliced mushroom in butter with chicken spicing and black pepper.
Today again I just realized that everything that goes through as low carb is not always LOW CARB! I saw a bread recipe on a low carb page and it looked divine with all the low carb right stuff in it. BUT after I typed all the ingredients onto fat secret and logged it the whole bread came to 97 net carbs. If the bread would be slice in 15 slices every slice would be 6.6 grams of net carbs. This is very high for one slice of bread and then it needs toppings too. We should be aware that low carb does not mean the same to all people. Low carb to me is 5grams of carbs for every 100g or lower.
Hoping to see good news on the scale tomorrow morning.......... x x x
