ALL ABOUT TODAY: 25 July


The internet here on our side is so slow this evening. I'm all excited tomorrow our family will be leaving on our two week midd summer HOLIDAY! I'm more than ready! The weather here is very hot and I have a lack of energy. I feel like our dog looks here on the couch :D

BREAKFAST was the usual 2 fried eggs, 2T feta cheese and half an avocado pear. Coffee and cream.

Midd morning I had another coffee and cream.

LUNCH was 3 cups of lettuce chopped with olive oil and a drizzle of lemon.
I made a bun in a mug with 2T of flaxseed meal, 1 egg, 1T of olive oil and a pinch of baking powder.
Had a good spread of butter on that and grated cheese with marmite. Yes it was great.

I had more coffee and cream late afternoon.

SUPPER was 1 cup of frozen spinach cooked in olive oil. I made some spicy oven baked chicken for my family and I had a small chicken fillet.

Had enough water for the day...... BUT NOT ENOUGH WALKING! I'm in the holiday mood and totally lazy this evening..........

FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS I WILL BE OUT OF INTERNET REACH. Sometimes we pick up a neighbors internet at the sea where we are going but I can not bargain on that. I will be not writing on my blog then for 2 weeks. Take care and KEEP GOING THE LOW CARB JOURNEY!

I'm dragging my scale all the way with me on holiday it keeps me accountable...........

ALL ABOUT TODAY: 24 July


I log my food in the morning on "fatsecret" and then by the evening I have to write on my blog it is a totally different menu. Life is running at the speed of light. Our family will be leaving in two days for 2 weeks at the sea. I'm packing, planning and getting ready to go.

Today my husband and I went on a treat trip without the kids - to do a bit of shopping for our holiday.  Our car tyre unexpectedly burst. We were driving slowly looking for a turn off the high way. Some would say it is luck but I believe God protected us from a bad accident as we would have used the car on Saturday to drive to a different town 2 hours away in the country side. I just felt God's grace in such a special way........

The funny thing was us two changing the tyre. I don't think we have ever changed a tyre..... It was fun and we had a good laugh trying to figure out what to do. The not so fun thing was the 2 new tyres we had to buy at the end.

BREAKFAST was 2 fried eggs, 2T grated cheese and half an avocado. Coffee and cream.

Midd morning I had another mug of coffee with 2T of coconut oil.

LUNCH was really more midd afternoon. My husband and I shared a RATHER SMALL half a chicken ;) we found at a place next to the road. I had a chopped lettuce salad with about 3T of grated carrots and a bit of lemon juice drizzled over.

Had a lovely coffee with cream midd afternoon while I was organizing our home school books for the next school year staring soon. Would not call that a relaxing cup of coffee ;)

SUPPER was 2T of tuna mixed with ranch dressing wrapped in lettuce leafs with sliced tomatoes.

I know todays menu was not that exciting. It was one crazy day!
I probably did not drink enough water and I really did not get a change to go for my walk. My husband is not home and I do not want to leave the kids alone so mama bear can walk the dog. Hopefully I will get allot of walking at the sea.

ALL ABOUT TODAY: 23 July


Well on my way to 50! Barbie have not heard of LOW CARB YET! :D

BREAKFAST 2 fried eggs with feta cheese and half an avocado. Coffee and cream.

Midd morning I had another coffee with 2T of coconut oil blended.

LUNCH was 3T of chicken liver pate wrapped into big lettuce leafs drizzled with a bit of fresh lemon juice. I had 2 slices of tomato on the side.

Midd afternoon I had another coffee with cream. I really felt like chocolate..... BUT HAD A SUGAR FREE BUBBLE GUM INSTEAD. This was pure will power ;)



SUPPER was oven baked eggplant slices brushed with olive oil. I scooped two 2T of tuna on top and ate fried green pepper strips and mushrooms as my side vegetable. Wasn't too bad.

Going to walk the dog tonight again. Hoping to do my 4km. The dog will be glad.

I wasn't any down on the scale this morning but not up either.

ALL ABOUT TODAY: 22 July


I was down 200g on the scale this morning. Hoping to be at least down every day at least this week before our family will be going on our midd summer holiday for two weeks at the beach ..... Aiming for gold and hoping for the best. The good news is I'm 3kg lighter this year than I was last year this time. That is good. Hoping to say next summer that I'm another few kilograms lighter ;)

Had a lovely day out with another family in the local midd city Turkish bazaar. Talk about culture, people, shopping and lots of fun.

BREAKFAST was at home. I had two eggs fried in butter with feta cheese sprinkled over. Coffee and cream.

My daughter and I had a very special cup of Turkish tea in a square in the pazar waiting for friends to arrive. I had lots and lots of water through the day. The weather was so hot.

LUNCH was in the bazaar. I had the typical local street food shaved chicken and I asked for it on a bed of salad instead of being stuffed in bread or wraps. I rounded it off with a good doze of mayonnaise.

I got home midd afternoon and had a good cup of coffee with cream and half an avocado pear!!!!!!! yes it was perfect!

SUPPER was left over baked chicken. I took the strips of chicken  and wrapped it in big lettuce leafs, spears of cucumber with olive oil and a drizzle of lemon juice. Dessert was 2T of cream cheese mixed with a t of cacao powder and a little bit of stevia sweetener.

I didnt walk the dog tonight. I had five hours of walking today. For sure did more than 4km walking.

ALL ABOUT TODAY: 21 July


The LOW CARB JOURNEY is not easy and it lays covered in many temptations....... I have fallen many times and had to get up and go on.....BUT it works and the results are there. I weighed in this morning at a solid 76kg. I'm happy now I can get into the 75s and further.

BREAKFAST: I had two fried eggs in butter with 2T of cream cheese. Coffee and cream.

Midd morning I had another mug of coffee with 2T of coconut oil.

LUNCH was chicken livers! Yes, not everyone is fond of this but I thought it came out really nice. I actually made chicken liver pate. I fried 2 cups of chicken livers in butter and fried it until cooked. I added 1 onion chopped, 1T of balsamic vinegar, lots of black pepper and at the end I added 2T of olive oil to increase the fat and 2T of water. I blended it well in my food processor. My family were pulling up their noses but it was so tasty. I ate it spread on tomato and cucumber slices.

Midd afternoon I had another coffee with cream.  I had a strip of chicken breast cooked with mayonnaise to pull me over to supper.

SUPPER was 3T of ground meat fried with 2 cups of chopped cabbage and 2T of butter added.

Had my one and a half liter of water and waiting for my husband to get back from his run so I can go and walk my 4km walk!

Will see  on the scale tomorrow if this was a good combo for me. I'm playing around trying to figure out what my fats, carbs and protein should be so I can get the most benefit from Low Carb eating.

ALL ABOUT THE WEEKEND: 20 July



Our family left early SATURDAY morning to go to the beach with friends and spend the night Saturday there etc.

SATURDAY:

BREAKFAST: We left the morning late to catch the ferry across the bay as mama bear was making cinnamon rolls to take along. I was in such a rush there wasn't time for breakfast. This never happens BREAKFAST IS ALL I CAN THINK OF EARLY IN THE MORNING. I had time though to pack our travel mugs with coffee for the road. When we stopped at the ferry to get on I was like a bullet out of the gun and ran for a food stall next to the road and picked up two boiled eggs and 2 cubes of wrapped cheese. I was very happy in the front row on the ferry with my boiled eggs, cheese and German coffee. The cool seal breeze and view made my day. I didn't even drool over my family's cinnamon rolls ;)

LUNCH was a big mixed up but it turned out that I had a few circles of fried sausage, tomato, cucumber and cheese.

SUPPER was the biggest treat and our hosts barbecued lamb shish with a great green salad and fried eggplant. I was in a seven heaven with the lamb meat. I can't remember when last I had good meat like that.

SUNDAY:

BREAKFAST was a real Turkish kavalti with our friends. We had eggs, olives, cheeses, tomato, cucumber and lots of bread. I skipped the bread and enjoyed the view over the see. Off course the coffee was there too.

We left late morning and went to church and I was starving at 3 when we got on the road again. I picked up a bag of peanuts and cashews. I had a handful of both and felt much better.

SUPPER: was back at home after a long day. We picked up a rotisserie chicken from the suppermarket and we ate it with salad and ranch dressing.

Nice to be back home and in control of what I eat. It went well though. I didn't eat anything that was not part of LOW CARB.

Tomorrow is a new day and I start with a fresh zeal to loose weight this week. All the best dear friends in your journey LIVING A LIFESTYLE OF LOW CARB.

ALL ABOUT TODAY: 18 July


I stopped the fat-fast..... I was gaining on the scale and not really strictly sticking to it.....it just does not feel healthy eating that much fat....... I have been retaining water in my legs and feet also the last two days while doing the fast. Feels so uncomfortable and it has never happened before. Today I'm back on just LOW CARB!

Chocolate cookies and fat also do not go together well. I decided to come back to just sticking to the basics of Low Carb eating. I have come this far and have lost 17kg and gained back 4! Gaining weight back after loosing on a diet can be so discouraging and so easy. I do want to reach 70kg this year that is my goal weight. I would love to do it this summer. The last few months I have been loosing almost nothing. Here and there a spark and then I gain it again. I have been slacked and sneaking carbs and need to pull myself together. Having this blog and being accountable is nervewrecking at the one side but such a great way of being accountable. It keeps me going. Thank you for your support and encouragement.

BREAKFAST - I had two fried eggs in butter with a sprinkle of cheese, coffee and cream.

Had another mug of coffee and cream midd morning.

LUNCH was leftover curry chicken layered salad from last night.

Midd afternoon I had coffee with cream and 1T of coconut oil.

SUPPER will be baked chicken. I will have a small piece. I also made a mushroom and cheese bake in the oven for me. Off course my family will enjoy their mash potato and carrot pineapple salad with the chicken ;)

Had my one and a half liter of water today and I will take the THE DOG for a 4km walk.

Our family will be going to visit friends tomorrow, sleep over and I will not have a computer there to write tomorrow night. We will be back Sunday afternoon and then I will write for the two days. Have a fun time all. STAY IN THE LOW CARB ZONE!
